Donna Lauria and Jody Valenti
July 29, 1977:
Donna Lauria an 18 year old and Jody Valenti who was 19 were sitting in Jody's car at 1 a.m. outside of Donnas home. A few minutes had passed by and Donna said goodnight to Jody. As Donna went to open the car door a man approached the car. He was holding a brown paper bag which he had reached into and pulled out a gun. 5 shots had been fired. Donna was shot in the neck and arm and fell out of the car, onto the pavement. A bullet had then struck Jody's thigh as she screamed and fell forwards into the car horn. Donnas father, Mike Lauria was on his way to walk the dog as he heard the gun shots and hurried out the door to find Jody on the car horn. Mike accompanied his daughter on the way to the hospital even though she was already dead. Jody was taken to the hospital as well and was suffering from hysteria, was able to give a description of the man.
The neighbors also reported that they had seen a yellow car parked a few meters back from Jody’s, but was gone by the time police had gotten there.
